YouTube has partnered up with Ticketmaster and Eventbrite that would allow Canadians to see live performances directly from watching music-related videos online.
Canadian fans watching videos from Official Artists Channels will see ticket listings for live music performances throughout Canada and the U.S. Then, just click on the "Tickets" button to purchase directly from one of the partnered ticket vendors.
This new feature is an expansion of the ticketing integration first launched with Ticketmaster in 2017 in the U.S.
"Live events continue to be a major source of revenue for artists, so we want to help artists keep fans updated on their upcoming shows and sell more tickets to live performances," wrote Andrew Lindsay, Head of Music Label Partnerships, YouTube Music Canada in a blog post.
Lindsay also cites a 2018 Nielsen report that notes that 24% of Millennials and 33% of teens claim they discover live music events through the YouTube platform.
