Staples The Working and Learning Company has opened another new concept location, marking its seventh. This one is located in Kelowna, BC and, like the others, features the Staples Studio, an area where start-ups, students, and small businesses can rent space to work.
The newly-renovated store, located at 2339 Highway 97 North, is the first Staples in Western Canada to feature the Staples Studio, as well as a Marmalade Cat Café location.
Access to Studio is available on a membership basis, with options ranging from a drop-in day pass to monthly dedicated private offices. Those who sign on get access to support from an on-site community manager and staff; priority use of Spotlight, an auditorium-style event and community learning space; an extended suite of services and resources for in-house marketing, web design, print and tech services, and more through the Solutionshop; collaborative workspaces, including lounge spaces, community kitchens, private and shared offices; and meeting rooms equipped with modern office furniture and technology.
The newly renovated store also features Marmalade Cat Café, a favourite in the city. As the café's third location, it offers healthy, homemade cooking, baking, and a "family-friendly vibe." Customers can indulge in baked goods, coffee beverages, and specialty teas.
Additionally, the store features thousands of new products, interactive displays, and expanded services through Solutionshop. Customers are encouraged to interact with products in discover areas, including an audio bar, paper wall with samples, and pen bar to test writing instruments.
"Our new retail experience is performing well in other markets, and Kelowna's entrepreneurial and student community made for the perfect climate to introduce this concept in Western Canada," says David Boone, CEO, Staples Canada. "We have witnessed Kelowna's evolution over the past 21 years and want to help fuel this thriving community with top of the line products, a wide range of services and a brand new coworking space. Our aim is to be a place for communities to gather, learn and exchange ideas."
The other six new concept stores are located in Richmond Hill, Oakville and Toronto, ON and Kirkland, Laval and Montreal, QC.
