NAD To Preview T 778 Reference AVR, CI 8-120 DSP Amplifier at CEDIA 2019

NAD Electronics will preview its new T 778 AV receiver and the CI 8-120 DSP amplifier at CEDIA Expo 2019, which takes place later this week in Denver, CO.

The new 9 channel flagship AVR features the latest developments in NAD's Hybrid Digital technology to create nine high current/high power channels of amplification with improved efficiency. Designed with NAD's full disclosure approach to power ratings, it conservatively delivers 9 X 100W FTC and 9 x 80W FDP, all channels driven at rated distortion. For flexibility, the amp channels are configurable to be used for surround or second zone audio.

A low profile 3U rack-mount chassis and TFT touch display combine with certified driver support for all major control systems.

It boasts NAD's Modular Design Construction (MDC), 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos, DTS Master Audio combine with Dirac Live room correction, 4K UHD video pass-through, and High Res multi-room streaming via BluOS.

The new NAD T 778 will be on display at CEDIA Expo, September 12-14, in the Lenbrook Booth 2520, Hall F at the Colorado Convention Center. It will be available this November at a MSRP of US$2,999.

Meanwhile, the CI 8-120 DSP (MSRP US$2,999; November) delivers 8 x 120 watts per channel @ 8 ohm, and is also bridgeable to 4 x 200 watts per channel @ 8 ohm. IHF Dynamic Power in bridged mode is 4 x 350 watts per channel @ 4 ohm. The hybrid digital amplifier platform delivers stable and efficient power with high current capability in a slim 1U rack space. To make this level of performance possible, the CI 8-120 DSP uses a customized version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage. This allows for massive power with extremely low distortion and noise in the audible range.

Installers can program and control a variety of functions which can be accessed through a web browser. The custom web UI can manage DSP calibration and IP control as well as offer several diagnostic features. Once the installer has accessed the unit from within the network, the amplifier can be set up, calibrated, as well as reboot, factory reset, restore custom settings, and update firmware.

The CI 8-120 amplifier is stable at 4 ohm impedance. A variety of power methods are available as well as an Eco mode setting for minimal power consumption.

Coming in early 2020, the CI 8-150 to be previewed at CEDIA, will be NAD's flagship distribution amplifier. The Hybrid Digital nCore amplifier will produce 8 x 150 watts per channel @ 8 ohm and is bridgeable. Designed to fit in a 2U rack space, the CI 8-150 will deliver audiophile level performance, capable of offering highly detailed sound to the most demanding reference loudspeakers. In addition to a dual bus system and analog inputs, the CI 8-150 will offer optical and digital inputs.
