Philips Adds Pair of Home Entertainment Monitors to Line Tailored to Gaming, Multitasking

EPI, an affiliate of TPV Technology Limited (TPV), which holds all Philips-branded home and personal audio licensing worldwide, has added a pair of high-performance monitors to its E Series Collection.

The Philips 32" QHD LCD (326E8FJSB) with Quad HD 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and the 27" 4K UHD display (276E8VJSB) with 3,840 x 2,160 resolution sell for an MSRP of US$280 each, and are ideal ofr home entertainment applications.

The 32" QHD monitor features AMD FreeSync technology with a smooth quick refresh at 60Hz and a fast response time of 5ms, which is ideal for console or PC gaming, says Philips. A new SmartImage Game mode offers multiple options for gamers, including FPS, Racing, and RTS Modes. FPS Mode improves dark themes in games, allowing users to see hidden objects in dark areas. Racing Mode adapts the display with the fastest response time, high colour and image adjustments. And RTS Mode has a unique SmartFrame feature that enables specific areas to be highlighted and allows for size and image adjustments. Save your personal customized settings depending on the game.

The 27" 4K UHD LCD monitor, suited for both the home or office, employs IPS LED Wide-View Technology for delivering crisp images, vivid colours, and consistent brightness at any angle. The UltraNarrow Border allows for maximum viewing size, which is especially suited for multi-display or tiling set-up used in gaming, graphic design or other professional applications. The MultiView technology allows you to enable active dual connect and view multiple things at the same time, like working on a blog while listening to a podcast or watching the game.

Featuring 10-bit displays with 1.074 billion colours and 12-bit internal processing, both displays deliver rich colour and depth without gradations or colour banding, says Philips. Other features include a LowBlue mode and Flicker-Free technology. Philips LowBlue Mode uses a smart software technology to reduce harmful blue light. Due to how brightness is controlled on LED screens, many users experience flicker on their screen which causes eye fatigue. Philips Flicker-Free technology regulates brightness and reduces flicker for a more comfortable viewing experience.

All Philips models sold in Canada are covered by a four-year warranty with the exception of the advance replacement portion.
