Netflix Confirms its 2018 List of Recommended TVs

Netflix has revealed its list of 2018 model Recommended TVs, which include smart TVs that have been certified by the streaming video service to offer better performance, easier menu navigation, and new features to improve the Netflix experience.

Each television that meets Netflix's requirements will feature a logo that designates it a Netflix Recommended TV.

Netflix launched its Recommended TV program in 2015, and since then, has launched new criteria each year for television manufacturers to meet.

In order to meet the requirements, the TVs must pass rigorous testing to ensure great performance, and easy access to Netflix and other streaming services. This includes starting up instantly and allowing the customers to quickly access Netflix or other Internet TV services within a few seconds, including TV Instant On; allowing viewers to move quickly and easily among apps; comes loaded with the latest version of Netflix; has a Netflix butto non fht emore or easy access icon from the TV menu; the ability to resume playing where you left off; content viewable in at least 1,080 resolution; and can support newer, more immersive Netflix browsing experiences, such as video previews. In order to receive the 2018 designation, the TV must meet five out of seven criteria.

The first wave of 2018 Netflix Recommended TVs include LG 4K UHD TVs with webOS 4.0; and Sony W800F and WF800 series Android TVs. A video by Netflix shows that a Sony TV can be booted up and a Netflix show started in 7:09 seconds.

Netflix will continue to report new TV designations throughout the year as new displays becme available and/or are updated.
