Kanto has added a new speaker to its line in the SYD, a powered, single-piece stereo speaker system that comes housed in a compact design and includes Bluetooth with aptX wireless technology.
Easy to set up, users can stream music to SYD wirelessly through Bluetooth, or connect a music source via mini-jack and RCA inputs, including a TOSLINK digital input for connecting a TV or compatible digital source. There's also a built-in switchable digital input for plugging in a turntable.
The included low-profile stand tilts SYD at an optimum listening angle, says Kanto, while providing isolation from unwanted vibration.
"Our new SYD makes it easy to enjoy outstanding sound from an all-in-one speaker that fits into any listening room," says Brett Smalley, Marketing Manager at Kanto. "Don't let its modest size fool you - a lot of serious engineering and listening went into making sure SYD delivers an involving musical experience, with clarity, detail, a natural tonal balance and expansive sound."
Measuring 17.5" W x 5.7" H x 6.9" D, SYD features two premium-quality 1-inch silk dome tweeters and two 4-inch woven Kevlar midrange/woofers, driven by a 140 Watt peak power (70 Watts RMS) amplifier that has been specifically designed to match the characteristics of the drivers. The cabinet is crafted from acoustic-grade MDF with a durable painted finish.
The included remote provides control over volume, bass, treble, balance, source selection, on/off and other functions. SYD also provides a subwoofer output and a USB charging port.
The Kanto SYD is currently available in Canada at MAP pricing of $430, and comes in four matte finishes: off-black, off-white, burgundy, and pink.
