Over the coming weeks leading up to Christmas, WiFi HiFi will be publishing a series of holiday tech gift guides, including items to suit everyone on your list. From gadgets and gizmos, to products for audio and videophiles, we have you covered.
If you feel stuck with your 16, 32, or even 64GB of built-in iPhone space, or feel forced to sign up for an iCloud account to backup an endless amount of photos, videos, or non-DRM protected music files, consider the Leef iBridge3, which you can plug into the device and use as an external memory drive. Transfer everything from photos to videos and documents to the iBridge to free up space, or simply use it as a backup. Plus, shoot and store content directly to the iBridge; and transfer files between the device and a DropBox, Google Drive, or iCloud account. Once transferred, create a passcode or use Touch ID with LeefLock to prevent others from accessing the content. Available in sizes from 16-256GB for MSRPs of $80-$230. Leefco.com
Tile Mate Bluetooth Tracker
The latest version of the Tile Bluetooth tracker, the Tile Mate, (Dream Team Americas) is 25% smaller than the original, and now comes with a key ring hole. Attach it to your car keys or camera, and it will communicate with your smartphone app via Bluetooth to help you locate the item if it's lost. The best part: your smartphone doesn't have to be in range in order for you to find the lost device. The system uses a network of Tile users from around the world to identify where your item is, and report its location back to you via the app. US$25, or US$70-$90 for a four-pack. Existing Tile owners can upgrade for US$15 as part of the retile program that offers a new Tile annually for up to half off the original price once the battery dies. Thetileapp.com
Twelvesouth New Mac Candle
Looking for a gag gift for an Apple fanboy? We've heard of the new car smell, but apparently, the new computer smell is a thing, too. The New Mac candle from Twelvesouth is no joke - it really exists. The 100% hand-poured soy wax candle is said to smell exactly like a "new Mac," right out of the box, bringing you back to the exciting time when you unboxed your awesome new computing friend. Scents include hints of mint, peach, basil, lavender, mandarin, and sage (who knew?), and the candle will burn for 45-55 hours. US$24, Twelvesouth.com
