Arcam rHead Headphone Amplifier
Arcam's first dedicated headphone amplifier, the rHead, (Erikson Consumer) is a pure Class A design, capable of delivering 2W into a 16Ω load, 1.1W into 32Ω, and 0.13W into 300Ω. It features multiple ultra-low-noise power supplies and fully direct-coupled signal path. The volume control is an analog resistive-ladder device like the one used on Arcam's A49 flagship integrated amplifier. This, says Arcam, eliminates tracking errors that can occur with conventional potentiometer-based volume controls. Also on the front of the cast aluminum case are 3.5mm and quarter-inch stereo headphone jacks, and on the back are switchable single-ended RCA and balanced XLR inputs. $900 Arcam.co.uk
