VIDEO: Using a Solar Panel To Generate Power in a 1976 VW Bus

WiFi HiFi's John Thomson discusses how he accomplished being able to run lights, a refrigerator, TV, and more in a VW Bus using Goal Zero gear.

One of our goals with our VW Bus was to never have to rely on plugging her in at a campground (or at home) in order to run lights, charge laptops, run a fridge, watch a movie and so on.

To acomplish this, we worked with Microcel, the Canadian distributor for a company called Goal Zero, which manufacturers lithium battery generators.

We have a 100 watt solar panel on the roof of the bus that keeps our Goal Zero Yeti 1000 generator charged, allowing us to park anywhere, but still have the electricity we need to stay connected.
