True wireless earbuds are all the rage nowadays, but this pair is the first I've seen with an innovative design concept that places them inside a wrist band when they aren't in use.

Effectively combining a fitness tracker/smartwatch with true wireless earbuds, the Wearbuds, as they're called, are now available following a successful Kickstarter campaign.

The Aipower Wearbuds employs a patented design that enables them to be stored and charged in a fitness band, which is managed and controlled by a dedicated app. Patented Wearbuds (TWS headphones) are wrist-worn AI voice interactive device systems providing the freedom to have wireless earbuds without the need to carry a charging case.

They purport to offer hi-res sound quality, along with a secure and comfortable fit in your ear, Bluetooth 5 connectivity, on-wrist charging, and fitness tracking. The earbuds are also IPX6 water-resistant and the fitness band is IPX5 certified. You get on-wrist notifications and an intuitive tap control earbud.

Powered by Qualcomm's smart audio chipset, the Wearbuds offers no skips dropped and the graphene-augmented drivers offer the high-fidelity sound through a fin-tuned casing.

The hybrid silicone ear-tips achieve more effective passive noise cancellation than regular earbuds, says the company, and touch-sensitive controls allow you to tap and press to adjust the volume, change tracks, play or pause, and access the phone assistant. Handle calls from the left, right, or both earbuds. Thanks to the water-resistant IPX6 earbuds and the IPX5 fitness band protection, you can use both when exercising or working in wet conditions.

The fitness tracker, meanwhile, can measure your heart rate, calories burned, foot steps, and sleep, all through the customizable app. To recharge both the earbuds and the wristband, use the magnetic charging cable that can boost the band from empty to full charge in 90 minutes. The TFT screen powered by an ARM Cortex process has 7-axis accelerometers including a pressure sensor providing power and resistance all together.

Wearbuds comes in either shiny white or black and offer up to 5.5 hours of playtime. They ship with two earbud tips, the fitness band, the magnetic charging cable, a quick start guide, and two-year limited warranty card. They are available for pre-order for US$199.
