The Rockustics Cherry Bomb speaker from MSE Audio is a fully weather-proof, direct burial three-way speaker that is designed to blend into outdoor landscaping, bringing audio outdoors.
The speaker boasts a patented three-way design that includes a 5" double-chamber, band-pass subwoofer, a 4" woofer, and a 0.75" tweeter in its compact design. By including the subwoofer in the same cabinet that houses the midrange and tweeter, says MSE, the Cherry Bomb provides full-range sound without running into the typical phasing issues you have when installing a sub in a different location from the other speakers in a traditional system.
"Built with the high-quality materials for durable, reliable sound, the Cherry Bomb provides full-frequency outdoor performance from one unit," says Jonathan Duran, Director of Residential Sales and Marketing for MSE Audio. "The Cherry Bomb keeps the phase matched anywhere outdoors, so crossover frequencies never decline to ensure the listener is always equidistant from the low and high frequency sources."
Patented phase-matched technology creates a smoother crossover frequency transition. Designed to be buried, the Cherry Bomb is 26.5" tall, 10.63" in diameter, and weighs 15.6 lbs. It offers 83 dB and 42Hz to 22kHz at -10dB. Enclosed with a ported subwoofer and sealed midrange and tweeter, it is hand-crafted in the U.S. and includes a 10-year warranty.
The Cherry Bomb speaker, says MSE, is Ideal for outdoor pool areas, patios and courtyards, residential backyards, and other outdoor venues.
