Square has revamped its Online Store to offer new tools for Canadian small business owners that can help them grow their omnichannel business strategy.
The new offering is the first product to be fully integrated with Weebly, a platform for building a website or online store. Weebly was acquired by Square, a payments and point-of-sale company, last year.
"It's crucial that businesses are able to reach their customers on any channel, whether in person, online, or in apps," says David Rusenko, Head of eCommerce at Square. "With the new Square Online Store, we're excited to integrate Weebly technology and bring the Square omnichannel experience to every type of business."
The new Square Online Store allows sellers to grow their business with a professional eCommerce website and integrated tools including shoppable Instagram galleries, in-store pickup, and more. Square Online Store also brings extra functionality to quick service restaurants, allowing businesses to offer seamless online ordering from their website, customized pickup times across multiple locations, and the option to easily pay ahead for online orders.
"Square Online Store will make it easy for all Canadian businesses, from professional services to retail to quick service restaurants, to create a professional website and start selling online for free," says Cathy Vigrass, Head of Canada, Square. "The ability to use one integrated system to sell in person and online helps Canadian business owners create a great experience for customers, reduce overhead costs, and ultimately grow their brand."
With flexible layouts optimized for mobile, customizable imagery and the ability to make updates instantly, businesses can have a website that fits their business and brand. Businesses have the option of a free starter plan with no monthly subscription fees.
Last November, Square also launched Appointments, making it easy for companies who sell services and time versus physical goods to organize customer appointments and bookings.
