Sonos Sonance Architectural Speakers Are Now Available

The Sonos Architectural speakers by Sonance, announced at an exclusive event at the company's Boston headquarters last August, are now available in Canada for pre-order, with general availability coming on later this month.

The Sonos In-Wall by Sonance and Sonos In-Ceiling by Sonance speakers can be pre-ordered on the Sonos Website, then it will be available for all starting February 26. In April, the Sonos Outdoor by Sonance products will follow.

The objective behind the Sonos by Sonance speakers were to product speakers that provide access to the Sonos platform, but that can disappear into a space, both indoors and out. They are designed to work with the new Sonos Amp, which was also announced at the aforementioned event in August.

"Our goal was to create a solution optimized for installers, bringing the Sonos experience to architectural speakers for the first time," says Sonos CEO Patrick Spence. "Sonance was the natural partner, sharing our passion for high quality, reliable solutions inside and outside the home."

When paired with Sonos Amp, the hardware signature of the In-Ceiling and In-Wall speakers unlocks TruePlay, which accounts for the size, construction, and furnishings of the room where the speakers are placed, and automatically adjusts the EQ for optimal sound.

The upcoming Outdoor speaker is the first Sonos speaker designed for outdoor use, featuring a weatherproof design and engineered to withstand a wide variety of environmental conditions.

"We're excited to be partnering with Sonos to bring the first architectural speakers with TruePlay to market," adds Ari Supran, CEO of Sonance. "Sonos represents the pinnacle in distributed audio user experiences, and we are thrilled to help extend that experience to installations where hiding technology intro architecture is desired."

A connection to Amp also brings the benefits of the Sonos system to every Sonos Architectural by Sonance speaker, including an easy-to-use app that works with streaming services, AirPlay 2 control, regular software updates, and the ability to add additional Sonos speakers and components to expand your setup over time.

Up to three pairs of Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers can be powered by a single Sonos Amp. Also, all Sonos Architectural by Sonance speakers feature dynamic bass processing to enhance low frequencies for a richer listening experience.

The $799/pair In-Ceiling speakers bring music into any room and are ideal for spacious, ambient listening. They also feature specially designed round, or optional square, grilles which can be painted to match the ceiling.

Also $799/pair, the In-Wall speakers bring targeted, immersive sound for home theatre. Like the In-Ceiling speakers, they feature specially designed grilles which can be painted to match the wall.

For $999/pair, you can get the Outdoor speakers, which withstand the elements to deliver rich sound outside the home. They are engineered to withstand humidity, water, salt spray, heat, UV rays, and freezing temperatures.

Today, the Sonos Amp is also available for purchase in Canada. At $799, it is twice as powerful as its predecessor, supports Apple AirPlay 2, and more than 100 streaming services. It offers HDMI-ARC as well.
