Plugable says that its The Cube USB-C Mini Docking Station is the company's smallest docking station on the market.
Compatible with Mac and Windows laptops and tablets with Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C ports, it has one HDMI, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and Giganet Ethernet.
Measuring 2.5 x 2.3 x 1.4 inches, which is smaller than most cell phones, the minimalist design helps save desk space and eliminate clutter, and makes The Cube suited for travel, quick set-up at conferences, or easy connectivity in a meeting room.
With The Cube, you can connect a single 4K HDMI display, peripherals like a keyboard and mouse, and a wired gigabit Ethernet connection, all through a single USB-C cable. The HDMI port on The Cube is powered through USB-C Alternate Mode (Alt Mode), which allows for native level display performance up to the host system's graphics capabilities.
The Cube is self-powered to function with or without its power brick. This makes it functional both on a desk and on the road. However, it will not charge a laptop, and is not for laptops like the 12" MacBook that only have a single USB-C port for both power and peripherals.
The Plugable Cube is available for US$79.95.
