Panasonic Canada has confirmed that a new waterproof point & shoot camera, the Lumix DCTS7, will be available this summer.
The Lumix DCTS7 comes with a 20.4MP, 28mm wide-angle lens, 4.6x optical zoom lens, and rugged design that's made for outdoor use, even in severe weather conditions.
The high-durability body is waterproof up to 31 metres, shockproof up to two metres, and freezeproof down to -10 degrees Celsius. It is also pressure-resistant to 220 lbs.
A new 0.2-inch 1,170K-dot equivalent LVF (Live View Finder) makes it easier to capture images even under strong sunlight or in backlighting. The 3" rear monitor boasts highest-in-class 1,040K-dot resolution, featuring an approximately 100% field-of-view.
The DCTS7 records smooth, high-resolution QFHD 4K video in 3,840 x 2,160 at 30p or 24p in MP4. Users can enjoy 4K Photo to capture moments at 30 fps and save them as 8MP high-resolution photos. The Post Focus feature allows you to shoot first and pick a focus point afterwards.
The 20.4MP High Sensitivity MOS sensor enables high-speed, high-sensitivity recording to realize high-speed burst shooting at 10 fps in high-picture quality. The quick response of the Light Speed AF allows the user to catch fleeting shooting opportunities.
The Lumix DCTS7 includes Wi-Fi connectivity, along with a variety of special effects in Creative Control, like Creative Panorama, Time Lapse Shot, and High-Speed Video. For beginners, the popular shooting assist function iA (Intelligent Auto) mode helps. And the Torch Light function allows the camera to serve as a light with its built-in LED. It also complies with USB power charging.
The Panasonic Lumix DCTS7 will be available at select Canadian retailers and on the Panasonic eStore in July for an MSRP of $580.
