Las Vegas-based Keyport, Inc. has launched its new OmniFob, an all-in-one IoT smart remote that can attach to your keychain and be used to control a multitude of smart devices, like locks, garage doors, home security, smart lights, and smart plugs.
The finger-sized fob attaches to any conventional keychain, and is compatible with all of Keyport's modular access devices, including the Slide 3.0, Pivot, and Anywhere Pocket Clip.
With one-handed operation, you can control compatible devices including Nexx Garage garage doors, Samsung SmartThing devices, and Yonomi. It also includes scene support which allows it to control multiple devices with the click of a button.
Alongside smart home, OmniFob can control vehicle access through select aftermarket systems such as MoboKey. OmniFob is compatible with MoboKey's full range of products from DIY installed lock/unlock to its premium system featuring remote start, keyless entry, and trunk. OmniFob is also compatible with Blue Eclipse's BluRemote (available early 2020) which offers connected control of OEM and aftermarket remote functions for any car, garage door, or home security alarm without the need for professional installation.
OmniFob can augment a user's personal safety by serving as a panic button as well. If you are unable to reach your smartphone, click the designated panic quick control and it will send a preset message to designated recipients along with GPS coordinates so long as the phone is within Bluetooth range.
OmniFob also comes equipped with a built-in Bluetooth locator powered by Chipolo.
Keyport is taking pre-orders for Omnifob starting at $65, and is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for the device. At the time of this writing, it had already received double its funding ask, at more than $116,000.
