YouTube has released its list of top videos in Canada for 2018, and the Kardashian clan takes top spot, with Kylie Jenner's ‘To Our Daughter' being the top trending video in the country through the year.
In the 11-minute video, she details her pregnancy and birth of her first child. It was watched more than 53 million times, making it the top video in Canada, and on track to become the number-on trending video globally.
In second spot was the "we broke up" video from YouTube vlogger David Dobrik, announcing his break-up with another Internet star, Liza Koshy; and in third was a video solving the Yanny and Laurel debate with science. Rounding out the top 10 was a diverse mix of videos that featured everything from music, to movies, sports, and more. They were: Paul McCartney's instalment of Carpool Karaoke; Walmart's yodeling kid; Deadpool, meet Cable; The Royal Wedding 2018: Prince Harry and Miss Meghan Markle; Falcon Heavy Test Flight; Fortnight Dance Challenge! - (In Real Life); and the 2018 US Open Highlights: Serena Williams' dispute overshadows Naomi Osaka's final win | ESPN.
On the music side, the year mostly belonged to two artists, one of whom gave away nearly $1 million in his video, and the other who got down in living colour with Bruno Mars. Drake and Cardi B ruled Canada's earbuds in 2018, both appearing on the list of the top videos multiple times.
The top music video in Canada was Maroon 5's Girls Like You ft. Cardi B, which inched out Drake's God's Plan, which came in second. Third was Childish Gambino - This Is America (Official Video); fourth Bruno Mars - Finesse (Remix) [Feat. Cardi B] [Official Video]; and fifth Ariana Grande - no tears left to cry. Finishing out the top 10 was Post Malone - Psycho ft. Ty Dolla $ign; Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin - I Like It [Official Music Video]; Drake - Nice For What; Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday feat. Chris Brown (Official Music Video); and Dua Lipa - IDGAF (Official Music Video).
