Dog & Bone's latest battery case for the iPhone 6, the Backbone, is rugged, and supports wireless charging with Qi.
The shockproof case featured a military certified rating, able to withstand a drop from up to four feet high. The battery portion is removable when you don't need it. And with Qi support, you can recharge your phone via Qi chargepads at home, or in locations around the world, including airports, hotels, cafes, and some of the latest cars.
It has a slightly raised rim to further protect the screen from drops, and allows access to all of the ports while the phone is housed inside.
Despite its rugged design, the case itself is ultra-slim at just 12mm. It comes with a rubber exterior, and is available in black with blue, pink, orange, or red. It is Apple MFi-certified and compatible with the iPhone 6 and 6s.
The Backbone Case and charging pad sells for $140, or you can grab the case on its own for $100 or a battery that can be swapped out for the charging pad for $70. The battery is 1,500 mAh, offering one additional charge of the device. The case itself doesn't have to be removed to interchange them.
In addition to these new iPhone 6/6s versions, Brisbane, Australia-based Dog & Bone also makes this case for the iPhone 5/5s. The case and Qi pad for that device sells for $125 and the battery for $70.
Dog & Bone products are distributed in Canada exclusively by Burnaby, BC-based Hitfar Concepts.
