Canadian online eyewear retailer Clearly is now allowing shoppers to virtually try-on glasses using its new aptly-named Virtual Try-On technology that helps them find the right fit and frame.
Clearly's VTO works like a mirror, showing you a real-time view of yourself instead of stitched photos, so you can see all your angles.
All that is required is a camera in order to see the faces. You don't need to upload your photo or have your face scanned. The VTO feature can be accessed from a smartphone, tablet, or desktop, and provides a realistic view of what the frames will look like on your face. You can also enter information like your pupil distance (PD) to make the visualization more accurate.
Clearly's VTO is accessible anytime online through the category and product pages with seamless services on computers and mobile devices.
Soon, Clearly will also add a feature that allows you to record yourself each time you try on a new pair of glasses, with a five-second video. This, says the company, can be beneficial for those with very strong prescriptions.
