Classé Announces New All-Digital Integrated Amplifier

The new Sigma 2200i integrated amplifier from Classé combines the amplifier circuitry of the company's Sigma AMP2 power amplifier with a digital preamp section.

The preamp section is directly connected to the Class D power amplifier section, which is rated at 200wpc into 8Ω and 400wpc into 4Ω. The signal stays in the digital domain all the way to the amplifier output filter; there are no unnecessary D-to-A and A-to-D conversion steps.

The 2200i has USB Type A and B, Ethernet, coaxial and optical inputs, plus XLR and unbalanced analog inputs. There are also four HDMI inputs for video sources like Blu-ray players and set-top boxes.

Using touchscreen control, listeners can adjust tone, nine-band parametric EQ for each channel, and bass management. Android and iOS apps are available for IP control.

Like other Sigma models, the 2200i can be converted to rack-mount configuration simply by removing and inverting the side panels.

The Sigma 2200i will be available in May for US$5,500.
