After opting out for the last four years, Crestron will be returning to CEDIA Expo 2020 this year, assuming the show goes ahead as planned this coming this September.
CEDIA Expo 2020, the trade event for the custom integration and installation business, is scheduled to take place September 8-12, 2020 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
"After what has been a challenging year for our whole industry, welcoming Crestron back to the CEDIA Expo show floor is a welcomed sign of resiliency and progress," says Ashley Sprengnether, Associate Show Director, CEDIA Expo. "We are excited to be the platform where Crestron announces their plans for 2020 and beyond."
"We feel that now, more than ever, the premium smart home solutions that our dealers and integrators provide are in such high demand, that CEDIA Expo is the perfect event to showcase our new products, specifically our award-winning Crestron Home," adds John Clancy, Vice President, Residential Crestron. "We look forward to returning to CEDIA Expo this year with even more exciting Crestron solutions engineered for Crestron dealers and integrators."
Crestron will have a 2,000-square-foot booth located near the front of the exhibit hall, including several demo areas with the company's full range of AV distribution, lighting and motorized shades, all controlled by Crestron Home. The booth will also have a home office setup to demo some of the Rockleigh, NJ-based company's home office applications for dealers.
"Crestron and CEDIA's relationship goes back decades; and they are a great example of the success that our member companies can find when they invest and engage with the industry," adds Tabatha O'Connor, President & CEO of CEDIA. "I know our members will see value in Crestron returning to the show and they will be very excited to welcome them back for 2020."
Crestron has also planned new education and trainings that will kick off at CEDIA Expo and will continue into 2021.
Registration for CEDIA Expo will open in June 2020. While social distancing rules are still very much in effect right now, many countries, states, provinces, and cities are being to relax some of the requirements. Assuming large gatherings like CEDIA Expo are permitted by September, the venue and attendees will have to adhere to certain rules that involve keeping surfaces sanitized and cleaned and keeping distance from others - two very difficult things to achieve at a trade show. CEDIA says that with Expo being months away, they "do not foresee any changes at this time" and are actively planning the show, but also monitoring the situation daily and following guidelines. Control measures and best practices recommended by the CDC and local health officials will be implemented around the show and onsite. CEDIA has a dedicated section on its website for keeping up-to-date with any COVID-19-related news pertaining to the show.
CEDIA Expo typically welcomes 20,000 industry professionals to see products from more than 500 exhibitors. CEDIA Expo is owned and produced by Emerald.
