Braven to Show Off its First Bluetooth Headphones at CES 2017

Braven will be showcasing its first foray into the Bluetooth in-ear headphones space at the 2017 CES, called Flye Sport.

The company, which is known for its rugged portable Bluetooth speakers, will showcase four wireless active Bluetooth in-ear headphones at its booth, which will complement the existing ActiveSeries sport line.

Models include the Flye Sport, Flye Sport Reflect, Flye Sport Power, and Flye Sport Glo, each meant to complement a specific sports and active lifestyle.

The Flye Sport boasts an IPX5 waterproof rating, are lightweight, and offer up to seven hours of continuous playtime through a discreet battery pack. The comfort ear tips fit snugly in the ear, and remain in place during any activity. They come with a water-resistant carrying case, and will be available for US$50 in the first quarter of the year.

Geared toward those who like to cycle or run roadside, the Flye Sport are also IPX5 waterproof-rated, but add a reflective lining for added visual safety, particularly in the evenings or early morning hours when it's dark. They come with a 900mAh battery bank that can extend playtime to 25 hours from five. Each pair comes with a Fit Kit that includes different-sized in-ear options, and removable over-ear and inner-ear hooks. They will come in the same colour combinations as the Flye Sport for double the price at US$100, and will debut in Q2.

Adding Bluetooth Smart capabilities is the Flye Sport Power (US$150, Q2) which ups the waterproof ante to an IPX7 rating, making them ideal for outdoor activities. It offers 10 hours of play time, and wearers can add a sport charging neck cradle to extend that to 20+ hours. They come with sport ear hooks and app-controlled hi-glow laser lights to enhance visibility in the dark. They also include Braven's Audio Ambient Awareness sound integration technology that the company says help to improve safety and responsiveness by allowing users to hear surrounding noise from the environment without disrupting music.

Also with Bluetooth Smart, the Flye Sport Glo (US$250, Q2) adds Braven's proprietary TrueWireless sound for a customizable audio experience with the option of manual control through on-ear controls or remotely through the Braven Sport Active app. They, too, are IPX7 waterproof rated, and include the same hi-glow laser light ear hooks. They offer up to four hours of playtime, extended by the 1,400mAh charging case to add an additional 20 when needed.

All four models will come in a silver/electric or slate/crimson finish.

Braven products are distributed in Canada through Erikson Consumer. Stay tuned for more details on availability and pricing in Canada.
