Ava Fertility Tracking Bracelet Launches in Canada

Ava, a medical technology company focused on innovations in women's reproductive health, has confirmed that its fertility-tracking bracelet will now be available in Canada.

Starting today, Canadian women seeking to get pregnant or simply better track their monthly cycle will be able to pre-order the Ava cycle-tracking sensor bracelet, which has been granted a Class II System medical device license by Health Canada, and use it with the accompanying app to detect the opening of a woman's five-day fertile window in real time.

Launched in the U.S. in July 2016, the bracelet is sold in 33 countries. Worn only at night while sleeping and synced with the Ava app in the morning, Ava measures key physiological parameters including pulse rate, breathing rate, heart rate variability, and temperature. Because it monitors several physiological parameters that are impacted by the reproductive hormones estradiol and progesterone, it can precisely predict the opening of the five-day fertile window in a woman's cycle in real-time, says the company.

A clinical study conducted at the University Hospital of Zurich claims that Ava displays an average of 5.3 fertile days per cycle in real time with 89% accuracy.

"Since our launch in the U.S., we've seen an overwhelming demand from Canadian women, with literally thousands who signed up for the waiting list for the bracelet," says Ava Co-founder Lea von Bidder. "I'm thrilled we're finally able to help these women monitor their cycles, their fertility, pregnancies and overall health."

The Ava Fertility Tracker will sell in Canada at www.avawomen.com for $399.
