The new Audeze LCD-1 reference audio headphones, which were handcrafted in California, combine planar magnetic technology with a new lightweight and foldable design that makes them more compact and travel-friendly for audiophiles.
The headphones feature patented ultra-thin Uniforce diaphragms and Fluxor Magnets that Audeze says provide powerful sound, sonic detail, and accuracy. The 90mm over-ear planar drivers offer wide dynamic range, while the open circumaural design helps deliver a transparent, spacious sound stage and stereo imaging. Fazor Wave Guides, meanwhile, provide deep rich bass with zero audible distortion.
Weighing just 250 grams, the lightweight headphones come with a memory foam ear and headband, which makes them comfortable to wear for long listening sessions, says the company.
The ‘phones come with a 3.5mm premium braided cable for tangle-free connection and a 1/4'' adapter included.
"With the LCD-1, we've created our best sounding headphone in a compact design that's easy to use and convenient for travel," says Sankar Thiagasamudram, CEO of Audeze. "Whether you're a veteran sound engineer that quickly needs to check audio with reference quality headphones or an audiophile, you'll find the portability and sound quality of the LCD-1 to be incredibly versatile."
The Audeze LCD-1 will be available in Canada through the company's Canadian distributor Erikson Consumer starting November 1, for $600 retail.
