7.Tilt Interactive app and SpinTales
Talk about taking kids' toys to the next level. Or rather, turning simple textiles into toys. The SpinTales Enchanted Duvet and Jungle Rug work alongside the free app to create an immersive, augmented reality world. Using interactive stories, kids can join characters like Little Red, the Three Pigs, Jack from Magic Beans, or Milo and friends in the jungle, and do things like climb a beanstalk. Ideal for kids aged 3 and older, it retails for US$100. Chances are mom and dad aren't keen on getting kids riled up with augmented reality story universes before bedtime, much less bring an iPad to bed. But perhaps it's a nice way to make daytime story time more fun and interesting. It's best understood by taking a look at the textiles and app in action via this YouTube video. SpinTales is exhibiting in the Sands Convention Center.
8.LG Levitating Speaker
This one is sure to get plenty of "oohs" and "ahhs" at the show. LG will be showcasing its Levitating Portable Speaker, the PJ9, which hovers in place over its Levitation Station to make for an eye-catching design. You can play back music and other audio content through the device, both inside and out thanks to the IPX7 compliance for operation in adverse weather conditions. The visual effect is created thanks to powerful electromagnets housed inside the Station. The device itself includes a 360-degree omnidirectional speaker with turbine blade-inspired design and deep bass thanks to the subwoofer embedded in the Station. It can run for 10 hours, and the smart speaker automatically descends to the Station when it needs charging so there's no interruption in music playback. Multipoint technology enables the speaker to connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
